Today is a very auspicious day in the Hindu Calender. Being Friday, devotees offer special worship to Shree Mahaa Lakshmi and her husband Shree Lakshmi Naaraayanaa.
Today marks the beginning day of Ratha Yaathraa of Lord Shree Jagannaath.

(I nostalgically remember Shree Jagannathan, my good friend and Shreemathi Bhaanumathi Jagannathan, his good wife. They taught in a Government Senior School in a small town in Ethiopia. I was teaching in a small town known as Sheno and I nostalgically remember my visit to their house).
