Our PM's visit to Malaysia

Our Prime Minister's recent visit to Malaysia is a welcome one and appropriately timed.I wish that the bilateral relationship between the two countries are enhanced.

The two countries share many aspects of Ancient India; these can be seen in their culture and traditions. Indians have contributed to Malaysian Economic Development in many ways. Thamizh is one of three official languages in Malaysia.

In 2009, I had to spend a few hours in Kuala Lumpur International Airport on my way back to Chennai from Phnom Penh. Although there was a Metro Train Service that took tourists to different parts of KL, I didn't use it due to a foot injury. Though longer than normal air route, this was only available at that time.

I stayed at a Thamizh restaurant at the airport, relishing iddlies with coconut chutney and a hot cup of strong filter coffee. As there were many  local Thamizh language newspapers and magazines in the restaurant, I could read these.

In Cambodia, I used to watch atleast 3 Malaysia based Thamizh language TV Channels.

Krishnam Vande Jagad Gurum🙏.
