Mahaalaya Paksha

11th to 25th of this month (September) is an auspicious day to Hindu people all over the world. This period is known as Mahaalaya Paksha and people perform rituals as a gesture of gratitude to their departed ancestors and to all those who helped them in one way or the other by offering worship to Shree Mahaa Vishnu residing in them. They also worship the mother cow.

I and my brother performed the ritual on 14th.
