Bhutan in Japan

This evening I had the pleasure of viewing a TV program featuring a Japanese person relishing Bhutanese food in a Bhutanese restaurant in Japan. I remember how Bhutanese folks love their green chillies not only as an ingredient in their food items but also as a very common 'vegetable' to eat with a pinch of salt. In Bhutan, even children in primary schools carry green chillies in their pockets and eat them raw, as I and my colleagues had seen 40 years back or so.

Though the program is listed in TV Channel's website, the video is restricted to be played in India, according to the website. However, let me share the link to this interesting travel and food program.

Let me complete my post by sharing a photograph taken in the early '80s when I was teaching in Bhutan. The photo shows me wearing Jeans trousers and a white cotton shirt. Along with me are a few local people. The building at the back is the main lounge of Paro airport, that was being constructed.

Mahaa Shiva Raathri

Hindus all over the world celeberate tonight as Shiva Raathri. Vaishnavites (devotees of Shree Mahaa Vishnu) offer worship to Lord Rudra and His Devine Consort Paarvati Devi, and more importantly, to Shree Hari, our Devine Father who is seated in Lord Rudra's heart.

Digital Economy

As many of us know, the first Digital Economy Working Group(DEWG) meeting under our Government's G20 Presidency began yesterday in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

Like many people, I use mobile internet to follow news items. This evening, I tried to know about the Meeting proceedings and outcomes that are of interest to middle class Indians. But unfortunately, I couldn't find any websites including those maintained by our Government, with most updated news.

This doesn't mean that our Government machinery is not useful. As we all know, after BJP came to power, there has been accelerated improvement in making India digital. For instance, I make my monthly payment to my servant maid via Google Pay just like I do when shopping online, paying my bills, paying to my Brahmin caterer (who supplies cooked food items) etc.

Thanks to Mr Narendra Modi and his team, Mr Sunder Pitchai and his team, and numerous others.

Lord Shree Krishnaa's Dwaaraka

Hindu Scriptures are considered to be 100% authentic. Science and technology have been useful in endorsing the authenticity of Hindu Scriptures. One example is the discovery of ancient city of Lord Krishnaa's Dwaaraka by underwater archeologists as outlined in this report.

14 Worlds

Some one forwarded a Utube video of a very nice animation of 14 worlds as explained in Hindu Scriptures. It also contains beautiful animated displays of Lord Shivaa, Lord Brahma and Shree Mahaa Vishnu, our Devine Father with Shree Mahaa Lakshmi, our Devine Mother. Shree Mahaa Vishnu is the Founder President and CEO of the enrire universe. The video has been produced by NASA. Let me share this video.

Physics teacher shortage in schools

As a former Physics teacher, I continue my interest (though at a low level) in Physics Education at High and Higher Secondary Schools. As many School Administrators know, physics teacher shortage is a common problem in developing as well as developed counties including the US.

(I remember how my colleagues Sabine Feeser and David Sheldon used to get help in teaching physics in their classrooms, from me and brilliant Physics teachers such as Ulrich Klausen, who was also an accomplished musician, in a school in Southern Africa in the late '80s).
