Today is a very auspicious day in the Hindu Calender. This is the day on which Lord Shree Mahaa Vishnu incarnated on the Earth billions of years ago as Koorma (Divine turtle). Today is an anniversary of this incarnation; hence it is celebrated as Koorma Jayanthi.
Angkor Wat (in Cambodia), once the largest Shree Mahaa Vishnu Temple in the world has rock carvings of Koorma avathaaraa as shown in the following image:
It is sad that Shree Mahaa Vishnu idols were replaced by Budhdhaa idols by Khmer kings themselves of ancient Tamil origin.
Today is also auspicious to offer special worship to Sage Vedavyaasaa , an incarnation of Shree Mahaa Vishnu.
Jai Shree Lakshmi Naaraayanaa🙏.
