Lord Shree Krishna Fest

Today is a very auspicious day in the Hindu Calender.  Being Friday, devotees offer special worship to Shree Mahaa Lakshmi and her husband Shree Lakshmi Naaraayanaa.

Today marks the beginning day of Ratha Yaathraa of Lord Shree Jagannaath.

Online shopping oddity

Online ordering for food is is  unavoidable to single senior cirizens like me. This mode is convenient as food is ready made and saves time and energy. 

But one problem is the cost. Let me quote one example. A few minutes ago I ordered for grilled chilli sandwiches from Shree Mithai, a local restaurant, via Swiggy. The cost of the food item is Rs 130. But Swiggy charges Rs 226. Consumers pay nearly double the cost of food item. This applies to all food items.

I think it will be nice if our Consumer Rights Groups and Government Agencies intervene and fix this problem.

Scoundrels in action

Usually on Ekaadashi, I reduce viewing non spiritual TV programs and use more time for viewing Shree Mahaa Vishnu related programs.  Today is Ekaadashi. As I was viewing a divine dicourse by Shree Rajeev Lochan dasjee, electric power went off. This happened two or three times this afternoon. Previously power cuts used to be short lasting not more than 10 or 20 minutes. But the trend has worsened in the past few months with power cuts lasting for half an hour to one hour or more. Added to this is the noise pollution by scoundrel drivers who hoot their vehicles with loud sound levels unnecessarily.  As I mentioned in my previous posts, government employees who are paid to fix power cut problems seem to completely ignore their duty. Such employees and rascal politicians who contribute to such nasty haapenings should be forced to live in houses with frequent power cuts. They should also be severely punished with dismissal from service. Rogue drivers should be banned from driving for life.

My beloved brother

Today with a heavy heart,  I fondly remember my beloved brother. He passed away on 20 January, exactly five months ago. 

I wish that his soul is at the lotus feet of Lord Shree Krishna and keeps serving Him.

Yesterday was birthday of Sir Paul McCartney. His songs such as 'Get Back', 'Ebony and Ivory' (sung with Stevie Wonder) will be remembered by his numerous fans (among whom I was one) for years to come.

Divine discourse

It was joy to view Shreemad Bhaagavath Kathaa by respected Shree Bhaishree on Aashthaa TV Channel this evening. 

He explained the terms Smruthi, Shruthi etc. He also explained how Police and Judicial system of a country should be based on what our Sanathana Dharma Scriptures mention. He also explained how it is important that men and women are treated equally and how at the same time women who perceive this equality wrongly and harass their husbands and inlaws  deserve punishment. He mentioned how the number of women who killed their husbands has increased over the past few years in our country.

He was giving his discourse from Hosapet, Karnaatakaa State.

I fondly remember my beloved mother. She was working in a State Government office in Hosapet before she got married to my beloved father. In those days it was customary for women to take care of their households instead of working in an office etc. The reason for this was that married women can take care of their husbands, children, and inlaws. 

Shree Bhaishree mentioned how this has changed to the extent that very foundation of a happy family has been shattered in many homes.

OP Sindoor Global Awareness

We all know how Modiji led BJP Government has proved itself to be better than that of any other party. BJP's decision to send teams of MPs to different countries is a welcome one. But what I don't like is the nomination of MPs such as Sashi Tharoor and Kanimozhi. Sunanda Patkar, Shashi Tharoor's third wife (after two divorces) was found dead in a hotel room in Delhi. Forensic and other investigations proved Sashi Tharoor's involvement in her death. Kanimozhi was involved in several corruption cases. All these were pushed under the carpet due to highly corrupt judicial system.

It seems that BJP is no different from other parties when it comes to it's selfish interests and it's desire to retain political power by any means.

Divine discourse

Somehow from the time my beloved brother passed away, I have been more lonely than before. As I mentioned in my previous posts previous post/s, I refrain from committing suicide as it is considered a sin according to our Sanathana Dharma Scriptures. I am trying to cope with my troubled mind. It is in this context that divine discourses on Shreemad  Bhagavath Kathaa, Shree Raam Kathaa etc. bring significant relief.

This evening I had the joy of viewing Shreemad Bhagavath Kathaa discourse by Shree Chinmayanand Bapujee on Aashthaa TV Channel. 

He explained the importance of sense control. As I have mentioned in an post, it is only humans who can distinguish between right and wrong. Other animals don't have this capability.

But unfortunately evil people don't even attempt this distinction and hear baseless gossips and form their own value judgements on people. As I mentioned in my earlier post/s, these evil people ruin the lives of good people just like it how it happened in my own life after I got married to a wrong woman in 1982.

Vata Saavithree Pooja

Today is an auspicious day in the Hindu Calender. Good women pray the Almighty for long lives of their husbands and perform Vata Saavithree Pooja on this day. Sometimes, in spite of this pooja, husbands pass away earlier than wives for example King Paandu, demon king Ravan, King Dasarathaa (father of Lord Shree Raam) etc. From whatever little I know from our Sanathana Dharma Scriptures, I gather that any person's present life and the date of departure of his/her soul from the body is predetermined by Lord Brahma, who performs his task on Shree Mahaa Vishnu's order and that the person's life span depends upon his/her karmaas done during his/her past seven lifes.

Divine Song

After several days, I derived the joy of listening to Sundara Kaanda Paaraayanam in Telugu by an eminent and highly charismatic spiritual performer on Hindu Dharmam TV Channel as shown in the following photo this evening:

The program acted like a good medicine to my heavy heart and mind that are overwhelmed by my beloved brother's demise nearly 5 months ago.

I came to know about his programs and those of many others by seeing my beloved mother who used to listen such programs with great devotion. I fondly remember my beloved parents shown in the following photo:

Nasty Public Administration

As I write this post, it 3.42 pm IST here in Chennai. Weather is cloudy but no rain. Temperature is 29 deg C. Electric power went off half an hour ago (happened 4 times in the past 24 hours). As I mentioned in my previous posts, no MLA (Member of the Legislative Assembly) or no Government employee in the Tamilnadu Electricity Board seems to care. These are 100% shameless evil rascals.

Maadhwaa Saint

Tomorrow is a very auspicious day to Shree Mahaa Vishnu devotees in Maadhwaa community of Brahmins. 

Maadhwaa people worship Shree Lakshmi Naaraayanaa seated in the heart of Shree Mukhya Praana who is seated in the heart of Shree Satyabhivana Theertha, a Maadhwaa Saint who headed our Uttaradi Mutt for some time. I think that tomorrow is the anniversary of the day on which this saint attained the lotus feet of Lord Shree Krishna.

Tomorrow is very auspicious as the anniversary of the day on which Sreepaada Raayaru attained the lotus feet of Lord Shree Krishna.

Saints' significance

Today our media is full of news items about perverted Governments in USA, Canada, West Germany and many countries. We are also surrounded by terrorism, wars etc. Even statemen such as Bill Clinton who was instrumental in putting an end to Israel PLO war when Yasser Arafat was PLO leader is unable to solve Israel Arab conflict today.

At the national level, we see how criminals get away without being punished in states like Tamilnadu.

This morning I had the joy of viewing Shree Raam Kathaa discourse by Shree Chinmayanand Bapujee on Aashthaa Bhajan TV Channel. He was mentioning how inportant the presence of saints in any community. Today saints are not given even one thousandth of respect given to evil politician rascals. It is a very bad trend and the community does nothing to prevent our children being exposed to all these negative aspects. Our schools and colleges too seem very insenstive to pupil needs.

Shree Chinmayanand Bapujee explained the Varnaashram Concept. This concept is wrongly perceived by anti-Brahmin minded people.

Shree Mahaa Vishnu determines every thing

Medical and health literature consistently cautions that many diseases including dementia, Alzheimer's disease, cancer etc. are due to lack of active life style. 

Mrs Margaret Thatcher, former British Prime Minister and Mr Ronald Reagan, former US President led a very active life. They suffered from dementia and Alzheimer's disease respectively. Mrs Teji Bachan, mother of Shree Amitabh Bachan, legendary veteran film actor had dementia. She was known to be an active home maker supporting Shree Harivansh Rai Bachan, her poet husband. More recently, British King Charles and former US President Joe Biden got cancer diagnosis. Both these have led active lives.

At a closer level, my beloved brother led a very active life style. Still he passed away at the age of 66. He was 7 years younger than me.

WAccording to Sanathan Dharma Scriptures, when Lord Brahma creates each living thing on Shree Mahaa Vishnu's order, he fixes the creature's date and time of departure then itself.

A few days ago, I heard in a Sanaathana Dharmaa divine discourse that birth and life of each human being depends upon his/her karma done in the past seven lives.

It seems that every thing happens due to God's Will.

Today is a very auspicious day to people belonging to Maadhwaa community. It is the day on which Shree Mohana Daasa Theertharu, a Maadhwaa saint attained the lotus feet of Lord Shree Krishna. I tried to give a link to any detailed information on this saint, but couldn't find any.

It was spritually very enlightening to listen to Sreemad Bhaagavad Kathaa by respected Bhaishree Oza on Aashthaa TV Channel. He gave his discourse from Crawley, UK.

Bhaishree is very fluent in many languages including Hindi, English and Gujaraathi. In his discourse he explained the difference between soul and body.
