People in many regions such as Kerala and Tamilnadu in India celeberate today as traditional new year day. Besides, people in countries such as Cambodia in South East Asia celeberate today as the beginning of their new year. I have mentioned the historic evidences of the influence of Indian regional kingdoms in the South East Asia in my earlier posts.
