India Election 2024

As votes are still being counted, according to media reports, BJP has got the largest score, although not large enough to form a government without coalition support.

I think that it is good that BJP has won the race and that Shree Modi and his team will steer the country for the third consecutive term. I wish that the party gets the majority seats needed to form a government without coalition support.

I wish the BJP leads in Tamilnadu too and governs Tamilnadu after winning the  State Election in 2026. I think that it is high time that DMK and ADMK are replaced by BJP with possible alliance with good parties such as PMK (Paattaali Makkal Katchi).

At the global level, it is a bit uncomfortable that although ANC leads the political race, it has not got the required majority to form a government without coalition support. I remember how well the ANC led the country in late 1980s up until 1992, when I was working in Southern Africa.

I write this post from a development perspective and not political perspective.
